The Path To Finding Better Charters

How Buses Have Evolved Over The Years

Travelling to various places is easy because of buses. For people who currently do not have a car, they ride on the bus for commutes. For people who hate long drives, a bus drive will be more convenient. There many options for convenient traveling and a bus is one of them.

In the old days, traveling was never that easy nor efficient. Although steam automobiles were invented, only a few people got to own and use these and other people had to travel by other means which was the horse-drawn omnibus, introduced in the 1800’s. This “bus” is carried by one or two horses with the driver seating at the front of a cabin that is enclosed has side benches inside. Unlike today’s design of double decker buses, in the past, the bus had to be pulled by three horses and some people had to seat on top of the enclosed cabin without a top cover and are seating with their backs at each other.

It may look like a fun experience today, but back in the days, you can tell how unpleasant it must have been for some passengers. Some horses are not cleaned and get really smelly and irritable. The heavy load and long hours of travel can tire horses and this can slow down the travel time. What’s worse is that horse bus halted its service when the horse flu spread.

The next transportation that was invented was the cable car. Although it was efficient and wonderfully designed, the operational costs were too much and officials were worried for the safety of the passengers.

After this, the trolley bus came into existence. A street car had to follow rails with different routes placed in city streets and passengers need to go to station stops to ride the street car. This system had a positive effect to both the people and the city because people in the rural area could travel to the city to work. The rising economy back then was due to the invention of street cars and the increased workforce in the industry. Street cars still exist today and some people continue to commute on it.

The next invention was the motor bus which was even more favorable than the previous transport means. With this invention, the number of people commuting increased. The designs of the buses have also evolved and changed to increase the number of passengers per trip.

Living in a big city can be quite a struggle especially when you need to go to certain areas. In the Big Apple alone, more than 2 million people use the bus to go to work every day. Bus trips in Chicago reach to almost 19,000 daily.

The huge number of people riding on the bus every day can get you thinking if the bus gets cleaned right after.

A bus wash is important to keep the bus clean and for passengers to feel comfortable not to get sick when riding the bus. There are a lot of bus wash companies who provide such efficient bus cleaning services. A clean bus is what many people want and need, and thankfully, there are bus wash services to keep in track with the demand.
